On a Saturday morning this fall, my family and I made our usual 2-hour drive to visit relatives in Middle Tennessee. There was a wreck on the Interstate, causing traffic to be detoured on country roads through a series of small towns. As we passed by the local high school, I saw an early morning football practice commencing amidst the morning fog. The coach had gathered the players for a pep talk. I don’t know the name of the school or the town. I kind of like it that way. This could be any small town in the rural South.
